April 2002

Annual Fern Bus Trip
Perth Australia

The Western Australian Fern Society will have its annual bus trip on Sunday April 14, 2002. The trip will visit Barragup Botanic Gardens, Castle Walter Nursery, and the Willy Wagtail Gernium Nursery. Combined Fern and Vireya Rhododendron Show
Melbourne Victoria Australia

The Fern Society of Victoria Combined Fern and Vireya Rhododendron Show will be held on Saturday April 27 and Sunday April 28, 2002, at the Mount Waverly Community Centre (corner of Miller Crescent and Stephenson Road in Mount Waverly). May 2002

Excursion to the Kilarney District Fern Areas
Queensland Australia

The Society for Growing Australian Plants (SGAP) in South Queensland will have an excursion to the Kilarney District fern areas on the 4-5-6 of May, 2002. They will be staying overnight at the Homestead Hotel, New England Highway, Warwick. For further particulars, contact Merle Gynther (07) 3374-1946.

August 2002

American Fern Society Fern Forays
Madison Wisconsin USA

The American Fern Society Fern Forays this year will be held on August 3 and August 4, 2002, in Madison Wisconsin. Trip leaders for these excursions are Carl Taylor of the Milwaukee Public Museum and Timothy A. Kessenich of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. On Saturday, August 3, there is an all-day trip (7:30 AM to 6:00 PM) to see the Ferns of Wisconsin's Driftless Area. Hiking will be mostly easy, but wear comfortable walking shoes and be prepared for a wet feet crossing at a small stream in Hemlock Draw.

On Sunday, August 4, there is an shorter trip (8;00 AM to 3:00 PM) to see the Ferns of Wisconsin's Baraboo Hills. Hiking will require moderately strenuous walking on rocky, often uneven surfaces.

San Diego Fern Society Annual Fern Show and Sale
San Diego California USA

The San Diego Fern Society will hold its Annual Fern Show and Sale on Saturday August 17 and Sunday August 18, 2002. The show and sale will be held in Balboa Park, San Diego, in the Casa del Prado Building from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day. For additional, information see the SDFS Fern Show page.

Los Angeles International Ferns Society (LAIFS)
Annual Fern and Exotic Plant Show and Sale
Los Angeles California USA

LAIFS will hold its Annual Fern and Exotic Plant Show and Sale in Los Angeles on Labor Day Weekend Saturday August 31 and Sunday Septermber 1, 2002. The show and sale will be held from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM each day. For additional, information see the LAIFS Fern Show page.
