A Visit to Chuck Ades Backyard
On Thursday, July 18, the Fern Society will have a barbecue in Chuck Ades backyard.
Chuck will provide the barbecue and the tables. Participants need to bring their own something to
barbecue (or just something to eat if you don't wish to barbecue) and something to drink.
The meeting will start at 6:30 instead of 7:30 so that we can have time for a guided tour of the
garden.

Getting Ferns Ready for the Show
Thursday, August 15, will be a work and fun party where we get
an early start on the annual show. Members are heartily encouraged
to bring in their show plants and get tips on grooming and
identification. We can also use the time to get tables ready for the show
and to get sales plants tagged. Even if you have no plants in the show, there
will be a chance to learn about plant names and good fern grooming habits.

Growing Ferns on Rocks
Thursday, September 19, Bob Manthorne will be down to talk to us about growing ferns
on rocks. Bob has shown many wonderful rock and fern creations at the LAIFS shows over the years
and this is a good time to learn how he does that. By the way, Bob is also an expert on Davallias,
so bring your Davallia questions with you.
